Arrived in Kayseri Airport you will be transfer to the Hotel at the foot of the Erciyes volcano to meet your all the group and the guide that will accompany you.
Time to rest after a long flight... tomorrow the trip begins!
Warm up Day
Today it will be focused on the warm up of the legs on the resort of Erciyes.
In the late afternoon you will be transfer to the Taurus at Ahmet's for dinner and rest in a guest house.
First steps on the Taurus massif!
Today will be the first day of ski mountaineering with your companions! The guide will give you a brief explaining the rescue techniques and then it's time to skiing!
Every day, an all-terrain vehicle takes us to the start of a new ski touring route on Taurus!

The Taurus massif is a paradise!
Different routers for all the levels, a descent for everyone....dolomitic ruiniform reliefs, very mineral landscapes, vast slopes...!
Last day of skiing
Last day of skiing... you have to enjoy it all to the full! Go, go, go!
At the end of this day you will be transfer to Cappadocia for 2 nights in a hotel...time to relax!
Visit Cappadocia and walk between the famous fairy chimneys. It would have been a shame to come to Turkey and miss it...
Time to say goodbye!
After the last traditional turkish breakfast, the transfer to the Kayseri airport will wait fo you...time to saying goodbye to your fellow travellers!

Anatolia is a historical-geographical region in western Asia, included in present-day Turkey. Has a predominantly mountainous terrain, with a vast plateau in the centre, bordered to the north by the Pontic mountain range and crossed to the south by the Taurus range offering an infinite possibility of ski touring routes in a unique setting.
The Taurus allows you this privileged feeling of wilderness, the wild and powerful nature. With a bit of luck, in the morning, at the start of your hike, you will hear the wolves screaming from the nearby forest...
Hotel & Guest House
Azimut will organise the accommodation in comfortable hotels and guest houses depending on the day. You will be accommodated in a 3* hotel based on twin room to share in Erciyes for one night, in a guest house based on twin room to share for the 4 nights of activities (The room has a toilet and shower) and in a base hotel twin room to share for the last night.

Due to the nature of this course, you should be at ease with ski touring techniques and skiing on all types of snow. We may also ski on glacier terrain. You should master uphill kick turns without hesitation. A good level of fitness is recommended.
Mapo Tapo selects local partners with the utmost care. For any inaccuracies, however, we can not accept any liability. Ski touring is a risky sport that takes place in nature. Ultimately, you are fully responsible for the choices you make. Mapo Tapo recommends that anyone who does not have sufficient knowledge and skills not go outdoor alone. All our trips include a local certified guide who will take care of your group. Enjoy your adventures safely with first-hand information from the locals.

What level do I need to be at to participate in this trip?
The slopes are mainly easy and wide but you should be at ease with ski touring techniques and skiing on all types of snow. We may also ski on glacier terrain. You should master uphill kick turns without hesitation.
Good physical condition is required. Ascents and descents vary from 800 to 1200 metres per day.
IMPORTANT: if you don't have the level required, the guide may ask you to leave for the well-being of the rest of the group if necessary. If any doubt, please do not hesitate to ask us!
What group size can I expect?
The trip requires a minimum of 5 participants to let be confirmed and will be capped at 8 skiers
In which airport to I need to flight at?
The airport is the Kayseri Airport (ASR).
If you arrive the day before or want to leave 1 day later, we offer you an option of "additional night + airport transfer" at registration.
Recommendation: Turkish Airlines is reliable and usually does not charge the supplement for your skis.
What should the day pack look like?
Need to be very light, a simple bag with snacks, a box lunch and safety equipment.
What is the accommodation like?
Depending on the group's composition, you can be with someone of the opposite sex.
You will stay in 3 different hotels and a guest house during activities:
We will be accommodated in a 3* hotel based on twin room to share in Erciyes (1 night), in a guest house based on twin room to share (4 nights, toilet and shower in the room) and in a base hotel twin room to share (2 nights).
Single room option 180€ subject to availability (If you want it, you will need to warn us after the bookings).
What is the current exchange in Turkey?
The Turkish currency is the Turkish lira (the exchange rate is 17.47 TRY for about 1 euro). Possibility of exchange at Istanbul airport.
What document and vaccines do I need?
Passport: Passport or CNI valid 150 days after the return date for French, Belgian or Swiss citizens. For other nationalities, inquire at the consulate or embassy.
- No vaccination is required at the entrance to Turkish territory.
- Recommended vaccines: for adults, the same as for Western Europe: diphtheria, tetanus, polio, pertussis and hepatitis B.
What is the required equipment?
- Hiking skis with hiking bindings, seal skins + knives, sticks, crampons. All in excellent condition. We recommend freeride skis to make the most of the descents in all snow and in the powder.
- Ski touring boots
- Backpack: capacity 35/40L. Safety tip: Airbag backpacks are a plus in safety. In the event of an avalanche, the airbag bag allows you to stay on the surface of the avalanche and thus reduces the risk of burial. The Azimut Guides use this bag a lot. These bags contain compressed air cartridges, check with your company for air transport conditions.
- DVA (avalanche victim detector): If you have a DVA, a shovel and a probe, report it to us at your registration. If you don't have one, we'll lend you one for free.
- Padded ski cover for the plane.
- Ski helmet
Is there a possibility to rent the equipments?
Sure! Azimut can take care of that!
