What is ski touring? - A beginners' guide

The slopes are mainly easy and wide but you should be at ease with ski touring techniques and skiing on all types of snow. We may also ski on glacier terrain. You should master uphill kick turns without hesitation.
Good physical condition is required. Ascents and descents vary from 800 to 1200 metres per day.

IMPORTANT: if you don't have the level required, the guide may ask you to leave for the well-being of the rest of the group if necessary. If any doubt, please do not hesitate to ask us!

The trip requires a minimum of 5 participants to let be confirmed and will be capped at 8 skiers

The airport is the Kayseri Airport (ASR).

If you arrive the day before or want to leave 1 day later, we offer you an option of "additional night + airport transfer" at registration.

Recommendation: Turkish Airlines is reliable and usually does not charge the supplement for your skis.

Need to be very light, a simple bag with snacks, a box lunch and safety equipment.

Depending on the group's composition, you can be with someone of the opposite sex.
You will stay in 3 different hotels and a guest house during activities:
We will be accommodated in a 3* hotel based on twin room to share in Erciyes (1 night), in a guest house based on twin room to share (4 nights, toilet and shower in the room) and in a base hotel twin room to share (2 nights).
Single room option 180€ subject to availability (If you want it, you will need to warn us after the bookings).

The Turkish currency is the Turkish lira (the exchange rate is 17.47 TRY for about 1 euro). Possibility of exchange at Istanbul airport.

Passport: Passport or CNI valid 150 days after the return date for French, Belgian or Swiss citizens. For other nationalities, inquire at the consulate or embassy.

  • No vaccination is required at the entrance to Turkish territory.
  • Recommended vaccines: for adults, the same as for Western Europe: diphtheria, tetanus, polio, pertussis and hepatitis B.
  • Hiking skis with hiking bindings, seal skins + knives, sticks, crampons. All in excellent condition. We recommend freeride skis to make the most of the descents in all snow and in the powder.
  • Ski touring boots
  • Backpack: capacity 35/40L. Safety tip: Airbag backpacks are a plus in safety. In the event of an avalanche, the airbag bag allows you to stay on the surface of the avalanche and thus reduces the risk of burial. The Azimut Guides use this bag a lot. These bags contain compressed air cartridges, check with your company for air transport conditions.
  • DVA (avalanche victim detector): If you have a DVA, a shovel and a probe, report it to us at your registration. If you don't have one, we'll lend you one for free.
  • Padded ski cover for the plane.
  • Ski helmet
  • Crampons

Sure! Azimut can take care of that!
They can rent the equipment and deliver it to you at the trip's start!
