Over 12 action-packed days, we’ll experience it all: breathtaking glaciers, epic +8,200ft mountain passes, and lush Alpine meadows, all circling Western Europe’s highest peak. From a morning espresso in Chamonix to an evening glass of wine in a mountain village, this Mont Blanc trekking tour offers it all. We’ll follow a curated Mont Blanc trekking map, crossing suspension bridges over wild glacial streams and hiking ancient Roman roads. Our guides know the top routes to keep us away from the crowds, ensuring we capture the best of Mont Blanc’s iconic trails and views. Itinerary

Our journey begins in the adventure hub of Chamonix, at the foot of Mont Blanc. Meet your group at 6 pm at our hotel for a briefing and gear check. Explore the town’s cobblestone streets, filled with Alpine charm, and enjoy a welcoming dinner. Rest up for tomorrow—our Mont Blanc trekking adventure starts!
After a hearty breakfast, we’ll take a cable car from Les Houches to the Bellevue Plateau, where the panoramic views of the Mont Blanc Massif unfold. We’ll cross a suspension bridge near the Bionnassay Glacier before reaching Col de Tricot (2,120 m), with a coffee stop at Chalet de Miages. After a day of hiking, we’ll settle in Les Contamines for the night. Distance: 15 km | Ascent: 837 m | Descent: 1,520 m | Walking time: 6-7 hours
Start the day along an old Roman road to the 17th-century Notre Dame de la Gorge church. We’ll hike up to Col de Bonhomme and cross Col de la Croix de Bonhomme for breathtaking views of the Vanoise National Park. The day ends in Les Chapieux, where we’ll stay in a traditional bed and breakfast. Distance: 19 km | Ascent: 1,348 m | Descent: 960 m | Walking time: 8 hours
We’ll hike to Ville des Glaciers, with an optional minibus transfer. From here, the trail leads to Col de la Seigne (2,516 m) at the Italian border. After a descent past the Elisabetta hut and Lake Combal, we’ll reach Courmayeur for the night. Distance: 21 km | Ascent: 1,004 m | Descent: 850 m | Walking time: 6 hours
Today, we hike the stunning Mont de la Saxe ridge, high above Val Ferret. We’ll overnight at Rifugio Bonatti, where you can watch the sun set behind Mont Blanc. Distance: 17 km | Ascent: 1,584 m | Descent: 940 m | Walking time: 7-8 hours
Our climb up Grand Col Ferret (2,537 m) brings us to Switzerland. After crossing into La Fouly, a traditional Swiss village, we’ll unwind at a charming hotel. Distance: 20 km | Ascent: 1,128 m | Descent: 1,580 m | Walking time: 6-7 hours
We’ll wind through Alpine meadows and villages to reach Champex and relax by a glacial lake. Distance: 16 km | Ascent: 711 m | Descent: 855 m | Walking time: 5 hours
Today’s route offers two options based on the group’s fitness and weather conditions. For a challenge, we’ll tackle Fenêtre d’Arpette, the highest point on the Tour du Mont Blanc (2,665 m), with incredible views of the Trient Glacier. Alternatively, we may take the Bovine route, a gentler trail with sweeping views of the Rhone Valley. We’ll spend the night in either Trient or Col de la Forclaz. Fenêtre d’Arpette Route: 16 km | Ascent: 1,400 m | Descent: 1,600 m | Walking time: 8-9 hrs Bovine Route: 15.4 km | Ascent: 800 m | Descent: 750 m | Walking time: 6 hrs
We’ll follow a scenic, lesser-traveled path through either Les Grands or Les Tseppes, leading us to Col de Balme (2,195 m) and back into France. From here, we’ll hike down to Argentière, where we’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel. This day provides spectacular views and a peaceful route away from the crowds. Distance: 18 km | Ascent: 1,200 m | Descent: 1,450 m | Walking time: 7-8 hours
Today’s highlight is the breathtaking Lac Blanc. We’ll climb from Argentière, passing by Lac des Chéserys with iconic views of Mont Blanc. Depending on conditions, we may take a ladder route to the lake. After refreshments at the Lac Blanc refuge, we’ll descend to Flégère and take a cable car down to Les Praz, then head to our hotel in Chamonix. Distance: 9 km | Ascent: 1,000 m | Descent: 550 m | Walking time: 6 hours
Our final hiking day starts early as we trek the Grand Balcon Sud, offering unforgettable views of the Mont Blanc massif. We’ll climb to Col du Brévent (2,368 m), then ascend to Le Brévent summit (2,525 m) for a 360-degree panorama. From here, it’s a scenic descent to Les Houches, completing our Tour du Mont Blanc! Celebrate with a farewell dinner in Chamonix. Distance: 17 km | Ascent: 772 m | Descent: 1,546 m | Walking time: 8 hours
