The Dalmatia region in Croatia is a dreamland for both climbers and sailors. Seventy-nine islands (and an infinite number of islets) run parallel to the coast, among which Brač, Pag, and Hvar are the largest. There is everything from bouldering, to short well-bolted sport routes, super long sport and trad routes, to deep water soloing. Icio and Marina's climbing and sailing experiences - including climbing stories of first ascents around the world, and cross-continental sailing journeys - will entertain you throughout the whole trip.It is an expedition, not a 5* holiday: get ready to help out in the sailing maneuvers and climb in really off-the-beaten-track crags!
Once you book, your trip is guaranteed to run, allowing you to book your flights with confidence.

My husband and I did the Mapo Tapo sailing and climbing trip in Croatia at the end of August of 2024, and we can’t stop talking about how amazing our experience was! Prior to signing up for the trip Giulia, one of the representatives from Mapo Tapo, answered all of our questions. Once in Croatia Marina and Icio, our hosts and guides, were incredibly accommodating. During this trip we not only climbed for 5 days straight, but also got a chance to learn how to sail, even enjoying exploring some of the stunning spots in Hvar island during our down time. Icio, our guide, was great at planning our climbing sessions to beat the heat wave, getting us to the climbing spots bright and early before it got too hot, or taking us deep water soloing to cool down during the hottest part of the day. And Marina, our incredible chef, kept us nourished with delicious meals all throughout the trip, accommodating any and all food restrictions our group might have. We climbed, we sailed, we ate, we laughed, we explored the beauty of Croatia’s islands all with an incredible group of people. Huge thanks to Mapo Tapo for such an amazing experience! This was our first Mapo Tapo trip, but it will definitely won’t be our last!
An experience beyond words. 🌊 Croatia has always been at the top of my travel list, but i never got a chance to go becasue summer in croatia is expensive but then this opportunity came: sailing and climbing in Croatia. We lived on a sailboat, exploring the stunning cliffs and waters of Hvar Island. Every day was a new adventure—climbing, swimming, paddling, snorkeling, and even tackling some deep water solo climbs. The entire experience was unforgettable. Our hosts, Icico and Marina, were exceptional, with Icico doubling as an incredible climbing coach. We shared delicious meals together and made new friends. This trip was everything I dreamed of and more, though it ended far too soon 😔.
First trip in boat and first trip focused on climbing, that's was the best combination! really really amazing! The boat is very nice, and even if the spaces are narrow, everything is well disposed and easy to go around. Icio is a guru of climbing and a really great teacher, patient and with a very cool approach, it gives you confiance. Even if the weather was not the best, Icio and Marina managed the trip to look for good weather condition. For sure a great experience
Icio and Marina are amazing! I didn’t expect to learn so much about lead climbing in a week. In addition, I tried dws for the first time in my life and enjoyed every bit of it - all the climbing under Icio’s guidance felt safe and made me more confident. Having some experience in sailing, rigatas specifically, I still learned new things from Marina and Icio. Extra snorkeling equipment came in handy as well. Meals were awesome and all the locations breathtaking. Great experience all round, 10 out of 5!
