Syracuse, Sicily
Thanks to its history as one of the most important Ancient Greek colonies, Syracuse is known for its impressive archaeological sites and stunning rural surroundings. In the Noto Valley alone you will find 8 towns and sites awarded UNESCO world heritage status! But for us climbers what really matters is the quality (and quantity) or routes - and this region will certainly not disappoint! There's approximately 30 smaller limestone crags to visit, offering 500 sport and multi-pitch routes all the way up to 8c, and even some bouldering and deep water solo. If you're looking to experience the rustic Sicilian countryside, a slower pace of life, and climb in some completely uncrowded crags, then this is the place to head.
