Overview
The Great Elbana Crossing is a trek with a Mediterranean flavour, which will surprise you and give you great satisfaction! You will have the opportunity to walk unique paths with surprising views of the entire island, eat good food and enjoy the island's crystal-clear sea in view from all the routes you take and just a few metres away from the accommodation facilities you have selected for your overnight stay! Four walking stages cross the entire island from east to west with ups and downs that make the route dynamic, but never overly tiring; it's, however, a long walk, so a good dose of passion for trekking is required! Each day will have its own charms and marvels to admire and enjoy, and the towns and villages crossed have their own unique characteristics: Porto Azzurro, Portoferraio, Procchio and Pomonte.

DAY 1
Welcome to Elba's Island!
Arrival on the island of Elba with meeting in Porto Azzurro, briefing and presentation of the GTE, free time for the afternoon in Porto Azzurro.
Free dinner.
DAY 2
From Cavo to Porto Azzurro
Start of the GTE - Today Cavo - Porto Azzurro. This first stage is one of the most demanding and exciting at the same time, with a distance of 20 kilometres and an altitude difference of 900 m, however we will have the possibility of leaving part of the contents of the backpack at the hotel, as we will arrive back in Porto Azzurro.
In the morning we will there will be a short transfer by van to reach Cavo, the starting point of the crossing.
DAY 3
Road to Portoferraio
Today Trek: Porto Azzurro - Portoferraio (Distance 15km, Height difference 500m)
The second day's walk involves firstly a pleasant dirt road to be followed without particular difficulty and secondly, entering a cork oak forest, a spicy path on red soil and a rather steep ascent. The arrival is in Portoferraio, the largest town on Elba, where there will be free time to visit the town and enjoy the sea!
DAY 4
Trek Trek Trek!
Today Road: Portoferraio - Procchio (Distance 10km, Height difference 500m)
This part of the GTE is the most relaxing and pleasant as along the route there will also be the opportunity to take a swim in the sea!
The arrival in Procchio is truly suggestive, and relaxing, passing from one beach to the next...
DAY 5
Mt. Capanne!
Don't stop! Today: Procchio-Pomonte (Distance 16km, difference in altitude 950m)
This is probably the most exciting section of the entire GTE, having reached the base of Mt. Capanne you begin a very long descent on the ridge that is absolutely fantastic for its panorama and peculiarity of the path, articulated between rock and vegetation!
DAY 6
Last Day :(
The last morning of our trip will be dedicated to a visit to the Rio Marina Mining Park. Elba has an incredible wealth of minerals due to its geological history, which you will have the opportunity to discover with us during the trip!
The departure will be from Portoferraio, so you will be accompanied to the port by our team!
The programme is very flexible to take into account weather conditions, activities level and endurance of the group.

Hotel Approdo Isola d'Elba (1'-2' nights)
Location close to the sea and in the centre of Porto Azzurro, within a few steps you can dive into the sea or enter the pretty village. We will spend two nights here so that we can start the first day with lighter backpacks!
Hotel Villa Ombrosa (3' night)
The north coast of Elba is a succession of breathtaking beaches, from Le Ghiaie to Capo Bianco, from Sansone to Prunini and Enfola. Hotel Villa Ombrosa is located on the enchanting beach of Le Ghiaie. The beautiful Hotel will host you for the third night of the trip.
Hotel 10 Colori (4' night)
The hotel is named after the colours that characterise the Island of Elba!
Just 80 metres from the long sandy beach and in the centre of the small tourist centre of Procchio. You will spent here the fourth night in the island :)
Hotel l'Ogliera (last night)
Hotel l'Ogliera is located in Pomonte, in the western part of the Island of Elba, a characteristic place on the Costa del Sole. The village lies directly by the sea, in the widest valley of the island dominated by Monte Capanne. The area is particularly quiet and characterised by cliffs and various beaches.
You will spend the last night of the trip here, relaxing and chatting with all the others in the group!

How does transport work?
Micol, your guide, will depart from Finale Ligure with a van of 9 spots. She can pick up some people from Genova, La Spezia or near.
There will be another guide for the first-day trek that will depart from Vittorio Veneto. If someone lives near this place, he can pick you up.
Level and difficulty of the trek
A good level of training is required to tackle the proposed stages. The route is mainly on mountain and hill paths without any particular technical difficulties. The stages are, on average rather long.
