Michela is a Medium Mountain Guide and a member of the Spanish Association of Mountain Guides AEGM and UIMLA. She turned her life around during her stay in Catalonia and became a mountain guide! She has climbed most of the Pyrenean peaks and will show you her passion for these mountains!

Philippe

Philippe is a Medium Mountain Guide who is a member of SNAM and UIMLA. Always a mountain lover, he became a mountain guide in Catalonia after discovering the Aran Valley. Today, he is here to share his passion and knowledge with all who want to know the mountain, its beauty, its dangers, its history and its peaks.

DAY 1

Start the trip!

Today's trip to Benasque! At 7am we leave Barcelona together with the guide. You will arrive at the valley where the route will start. The route will take you through pine tree areas and today, next to the Estos river. 

Length: 8.5 km 
Height difference: 650 metres

DAY 2

Valle de Estos & La Suola refuge

You aim to get to Refugio de la Soula on this second day. You will start in the Estos Valley, with spectacular views, until you reach the Anès Cruces plateau. After that, you will reach the Aigues Tortes pass at 2687 m, from where you will have spectacular views of all the other peaks. Finally, you will descend until you reach the La Suola refuge.

DAY 3

Hike, Hike, Hike

Third step today! Today you will continue the route in wilder areas and with rocky terrain, but you will be lucky enough to walk next to several lakes. The highest point you will touch will be Col Des Gourgs Blancs, at 2876 m. Today you will end the trail at Lake Portillon.

DAY 4

Road to Maupas!

Today we continue our discovery of the Pyrenees on the French side! We will lose some altitude once we reach Lake Espingo. After a quick rest, we will set off again towards Cap de Hounts, until we reach the Maupas refuge.

DAY 5

Let's continue to hike

Depending on the group's physical condition, we will decide whether to climb to the summit of the Pic du Maupas 3109m. Then we will descend, skirting several lakes, until we reach the Empress Trail, a very comfortable and verdant route that will take us to our lodging for the night, Hospice de France.

DAY 6

Last day of hike

Per l'ultima tappa di questo hiking, saliremo fino al passo di Venasquè a 2444m per proseguire. Saluterai la Francia per proseguire verso Benasque, dove dovrà dire addio a tutti!
