Overview
The island of Salina in the Aeolian Islands offers fascinating excursions for nature lovers and hikers, also called the Green Island. If you wish to touch the sky with your finger, your destination is Monte Fossa delle Felci. From the highest peak of the Aeolian Islands, you can enjoy a panoramic view that encompasses all seven islands up to the Sicilian Tyrrhenian coast. Also from this magnificent spot surrounded by lush greenery is its sister mountain, Monte dei Porri. Here, too, the path leading to the summit will immerse you first in the vineyards that produce the nectar of the gods, 'la malvasia', and then in the unique and lush flora of this area.

DAY 1
Monte Fossa Trekking
Monte Fossa delle Felci is the highest mountain on the Aeolian Islands, and offers a vantage point from which to admire the entire archipelago, the Sicilian coastline and even the majestic Mount Etna. A unique and rewarding experience, as if one could embrace the entirety of this enchanting group of islands!
The ascent to the summit of the Fossa delle Felci represents the most accessible, complete and diversified excursion experience in the entire Aeolian territory. In fact, several options cater to different preferences and physical abilities, ensuring that everyone can choose a route that suits their needs and fitness level.
DAY 2
Monte dei Porri Trekking
One of Salina's best-loved sites is Monte dei Porri, a now inactive volcano that rises in the western part of the green island. At 860 metres above sea level, the third-highest peak in the archipelago is surpassed only by Monte Fossa delle Felci and Stromboli.
The paths that crisscross it are dotted with various wildlife species, including heather, aromatic wormwood, strawberry, and mastic trees. These paths are the whip snake's natural habitat, the only snake species present in the Aeolian Islands.The present trek is slightly more demanding than the other and with less choice of directions.
The programme is very flexible to take into account weather conditions, activities level and endurance of the group.

Hiking Skills
No minimum level is required to participate; both excursions are suitable for everyone. You’ll be alway alongside a certified mountain guide that will help you and teach you how to use the equipment and what to bring.
