Overview
Discover one of the best limestone crags in Europe on this rock climbing course in Leonidio, along with IFMGA-certified guide Kyriakos. Leonidio has recently gained its place among some of the best climbing hotspots in the world. It has to offer some of the most beautiful limestone crags in Europe. We offer a 6-day climbing course designed to take you through the nicest sport climbing crags around. The course is also meant to offer guidance and training workshops for sport climbing in order to develop your personal experience on the rock. The small town of Leonidio lays on the Greek coast of the Mediterannean Sea, not far from the city of Athens (3.5 hours drive). The climbing cliffs surround the town creating a beautiful mixture between mountains and the sea, while the evening attractions like local pubs and fishing taverns offer a friendly atmosphere and a good relaxing time after a day of climbing. The climbing is very varied and it comes in many forms with spectacular tufas and overhanging walls to vertical and technical climbing and also a big selection of accessible and easy routes. Please note the training workshops can be customized according to your personal or groups abilities and experience.

He was born and grew up in Kyperounda, a beautiful setting within the mountains in Cyprus. Having the mountains on his doorstep, he was always curious and keen to explore them and participate in various sports and activities! Since May 2018 he work as a full-time Mountain Guide.
He will make you discover his world!

DAY 1
Arrival day
Arrive in Leonidio, meet your guide and fellow Mapo Tapo travellers and settle into your accommodation. If you have some time to spare, why not take some time to warm up on one of the easily approached crags of the area?
DAY 2
Orama crag day!
Today we head to Orama crag which is located right above town, where you will spend the day hanging on rocks with the support of your local guide.
DAY 3
Different day, different crag!
Different day, different crag. Leonidio can offer different climbing styles for all tastes. Slabs, overhangs, tufas so let's see what the group prefer and let Kyriakos take you to the perfect crag.
DAY 4
Red tufa crag!
Climbing on Mars. Visit the dream deep-red tufa crag. Rising above a flat protected balcony with high quality routes on tufas and face climbs.
DAY 5
Walls of Theos!
Climb on the impressive walls of Theos with the deep blue mediteranean sea in the background.
DAY 6
Last day!
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. The final day of the trip is reserved for you to pack and head home at your leisure.
The programme is very flexible to take into account weather conditions, activities level and endurance of the group.

FAQs
How to get to Leonidio?
- By Plane + Car: The most common way to reach Leonidio is by flying to Athens International airport and renting a car for as low as 10-15 euros/day. Leonidio is 235km from Athens, a 3 hour drive.
- By Plane + bus: There is also a bus connection from Athens to Leonidio. From the bus station "Kifisos" in Athens you can take one of the three dailly buses that take you to Leonidio.
How can we move during activity?
You will need to rent a car/van with the group and sharing the expensive.
