Welcome to Refugi de La Morera de Montsant, a cozy hostel located in the beautiful village of Priorat, at the foot of the Serra de Montsant - a global climbing hotspot. With over 6,000 routes - and the crags of Margalef and Siurana - just a few minutes’ drive away, the Refugi is the perfect basecamp for avid climbers looking to make the most of the area's world-class quality rock. The hostel is based in the village's old town hall, which was converted in 2018 to accommodate the many hikers and climbers visiting the area. You will find 7 rooms, wi-fi, a restaurant service offering delicious traditional dishes, and a large municipal swimming pool nearby. Everything is taken care of - all you have to worry about is where to climb! For rest days, the Priorat region is renowned for its wines, oils and culture, and the coast is located less than an hour away.
Meet your host in Montsant
Joan is a climbing guide and the manager of the hostel, and was part of the first group of climbers to have developed the region’s incredible potential in 1985. He even bolted and made the FA of the first 7b and 7c in Siurana, so is the perfect person to go to for advice on the crags, routes, and anything else.
