Davide

Davide "Cata"

Cata, Mapo Tapo's Local Partner for Western Sicily, began climbing in 2001 in a small gym in the country during the years when Boulder was gaining popularity in Italy. It was love at first sight. He also appreciates roped climbing, enriching it in Sicily by bolting ever-new cliffs.

Sicily, Italy

Sicily is an actual living paradise for climbers.

Sicily is an actual living paradise for climbers. There are a lot of beautiful crags, and the rock quality is extraordinary. Nature is still untouched, with the Mediterranean sea and golden tufas as protagonists. On top of that, every month of the year can be the optimal one to climb: from the summer period - in which it is awesome to climb at the rock's shadow and refresh in the sea after - to the winter one, with its traditional mild and super pleasant climate.

Reviews

The food, the climbing spots and the sights we were able to see were spectacular, and we had a wonderful time getting to know local climbers who shared with us a bit of their own lives in the process. I'm already looking forwards to the next trip we book!

As a complete beginner, Mapo Tapo made me feel safe to explore new heights and challenge myself. It was amazing to try rock climbing in breath-taking spots where we were the only people there!
