Overview
Trekking in the Central Italian National Park will let you explore three enchanting regions of Italy: Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise! This trip gives you the opportunity to experience a holiday with a high naturalistic as well as historical and cultural content. Hosted in an agritourism, you will go on various excursions on some of the most beautiful trails in the National Park!

DAY 1
Arrival day
Arrival in Isernia and meeting with Antonio, your guide for this trip! Transfer by to Rocchetta al Volturno. Accommodation in the rooms and explanation of the trip!
The dinner will be in the accommodation :)
Time to be ready for tomorrow!
DAY 2
Mount La Meta
After a good breakfast, we move to Pianoro Le Forme and start of the hike up Mount La Meta (2242 metres above sea level). We will stop for a good packed lunch during the trek.
Then we will return to the accommodation for some good rest!
Level of the day:
Duration: 6 hours (excluding breaks). Length of the stage: 13 km.
Total difference in altitude on the ascent: +1050 metres. Total height difference in descent: -1050 metres.
Difficulty level: medium-difficult.
DAY 3
A ring trek!
Today will we reach Castelnuovo al Volturno and start the hike "The ring of Monte Marrone (1805 mt), Monte Mare (2020 mt) and Monte Ferruccia (2005 mt). During the trek, a good packed lunch will be always with you!
The dinner will be always at the accommodation!
Level of the day:
Duration: 7 hours (excluding breaks). Length of the stage: 15.5 km.
Total difference in altitude on the ascent: +1100 metres.
Total height difference in descent: -1100 metres.
Difficulty level: difficult.
DAY 4
Valle di Mezzo
After a good breakfast, you will reach Castel San Vincenzo and start of the hike of the day through the Valle di Mezzo and the hermitage of San Michele a Foce to Pizzone and Castel San Vincenzo.
Level of the day:
Duration: 5 hours (excluding breaks). Length of the stage: 15.5 km.
Total difference in altitude on the ascent: +380 metres.
Total height difference in descent: -380 metres.
Difficulty level: medium.
DAY 5
Castel San Vincenzo & Mount Rocchetta
Today we will hiking the "Ring of the lake Castel San Vincenzo and Mount Rocchetta (972 mt). After a good packed lunch we will return to the accommodation for some relax!
Level of the day:
Durata: 4 ore (escluse le soste). Lunghezza della tappa: 14 km.
Dislivello totale in salita: +560 metri.
Dislivello totale in discesa: -560 metri.

DAY 6
Last day!
Time for farewells and departure for one's own homes. After breakfast, transfer to the Pantano della Zittola and brief visit of the same and the village of Montenero Valcocchiara.
After the visit, it will be time to say goodbye!
The programme is very flexible to take into account weather conditions, activities level and endurance of the group.

The journey is characterised by an intimate, informal, family atmosphere and the constant presence of the guide.
Suggestive atmospheres in the towns of Castelnuovo al Volturno, Montenero Valcocchiara, Castel San Vincenzo and Pizzone, small villages with their examples of artistic beauty with palaces, churches, fountains, road crosses, gardens and more. The 'ghost town' of Rocchetta Alta is very interesting. The archaeological excavations of the Benedictine monastery of San Vincenzo al Volturno. The impressive hermitage of San Michele a Foce set into a rock face.
The Mainarde mountains are part of the Molise area of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, one of the oldest parks in Italy. A wild and solitary mountain range, where it is possible to encounter various wild animals.
The excellent traditional local cuisine and drinks enrich the journey. Typical products and traditional dishes, often handmade in an old-fashioned way, brighten the evenings of walkers. You can taste cheeses, cured meats, and local and seasonal vegetables. You can drink Moscato white wine and Tintilia red wine. The journey is characterised by an intimate, informal, family atmosphere and the constant presence of the guide.

This is a mid-mountain route; good training is required as the trek is 58km long with a total ascent/descent difference in altitude of +/-3090 metres.
