Itinerary

We will meet at your hotel in Mendoza city for a gear check and to help with permits for Aconcagua Park. Mendoza is your last chance to rent gear and a great place to enjoy a glass of wine in one of the world’s wine capitals. We recommend arriving during the morning.
We pick you up from the hotel and drive to Horcones (2955 m), the entrance to Aconcagua Park, a 4-hour journey into the Andes Range. You get your first view of the Aconcagua South Wall at the entrance. We then hike for 3-4 hours to Confluencia Camp (3415 m), explore the surroundings, and enjoy tea or mate before dinner. Altitude difference: 413 m (1354 ft) Time: 3-4 hours
Today is a big day! We trek for about 5 hours to Plaza Francia (4100 m), at the base of the stunning Aconcagua South Wall. Here, Aconcagua looks more magnificent and intimidating than ever. We take many photos, have lunch with breathtaking views, and hear stories about the mountain. We then hike back to Confluencia Camp for a toast, dinner, and rest. Altitude difference: 732 m (2401 ft) Time: 5 hours
After breakfast, we bid farewell to the basecamp staff and hiked down to Horcones Entrance, where our transfer awaits. We will return to your lodging in Mendoza City by late evening. We recommend sleeping in a hotel and departing the next morning. Once at the hotel, you can enjoy a recovery shower, rest, and share one last toast to celebrate the adventure.
