What you'll do

During the Mapo Tapo 'Sicily by the Sea' experience you will have the opportunity to discover and practice the amazing discipline of climbing surrounded by a crystal-clear sea. In line with the Mapo Tapo spirit, you will also have the occasion to meet fellow climbers and share your passion for the rock! The coastline of Western Sicily is a real amusement park for climbers. The protagonists are the Mediterranean sea, the golden tufas, and the laid-back Sicilian vibe. Nature is still untouched here and you will find extraordinary rock quality and scenery, ranging from limestone crags, to sandstone boulders and DWS routes over crystal clear water. To complete the experience: awesome food and the amazing Sicilian vibe are guaranteed.

Itinerary

Once picked up from the airport and greeted with a welcome aperitivo, you will have a quick warm-up with your group mates at Stardust Wall while Gio and Cata prepare the dinner. Be ready for some barbecue or pizza and some chill in the hot tub! NB: There will be only one transfer that will pick you up at 8/8.30 pm at the airport of Palermo.
A traditional Italian breakfast awaits you in the morning... and then it is all about rocks! You will spend the day climbing on multiple crags in the surroundings of Trapani, Custonaci and San Vito lo Capo - the choice of the crag is made by your local expert depending on weather conditions. If breakfast wasn't enough, you will experience the traditional Cannolo delivery to the crag.
Climbing all day is super fun, but the view from the top might have made you wonder how is the sea in this part of the island. Our answer might be biased, so you will get to tell it yourself. After another full day of climbing, jump into the water and chill out your muscles, you deserve it!
It's your last day of climbing, and you want to make the most out of it! Wake up early, eat breakfast (we know you'll miss that too), and go to the next crags! Follow your local partner's advice regarding the best spot to go according to the weather conditions, and enjoy the day! According to the needs of each of you, Marco will figure out the best thing to go for during your last day: deep water soloing, sport climbing, or bouldering.
On your last day, we will get to climb Stardust Wall for the last time, enjoy your breakfast, and be transferred to the airport. It is time to head back home - yes, already! NB: Same as the arrival, there will be one transfer that will leave at the time of the first of you to be at the airport :) We would advise you to leave in the afternoon, around 4 pm, so that you can enjoy your last day at the b&b!

The guide made the experience worth it. All went well in this amazing weekend, I was looking for a climbing instructor who could show me around and tech further techniques. The group was wonderful, the B&B very cozy, as were the hosts with a wonderful Italian breakfast experience too. The location and logistics were all easily covered which made this a great experience. Also, beautiful climbing spots, breathtaking. I just don't give this a 5 stars review because we had to share the bedroom, which might not be everyone's cup of tea :)

The climbing trip was very worth it ! We enjoyed every day of the trip thanks to the guides that did an excellent job catering to everyone ability level and preferences. They also took us to spots after climbing to swim, for example. I really appreciated their good hearts and effort to make the trip memorable, comfortable, and safe for everyone. Good job <3

Great trip would highly recommend! I had joined in as an absolute beginner and yet was able to have a lot of fun and learn a lot. Would recommend folks to practice some rope climbing and ideally reach a degree of proficiency prior to the trip to extract the most out of it
