Itinerary

We meet at the harbour in the centre of Svolvær at 16:00. After checking in on our boat and getting to know each other; we review the trip plan, safety information, boat, and equipment. Before it gets too late, we cast off and sail a short distance to find a suitable anchorage for the night. We prepare supper on board. We recommend eating dinner before arriving so we can maximize our time going through the boat and equipment, ensuring we are ready to set sail into the fjords this evening.
After an early breakfast, we take the dinghy ashore in Austnesfjorden. With our guide, we assess route choices for the day based on weather, snow conditions, and wind. Austnesfjorden offers many ski-touring summits, such as Higravtinden and Geitgaljartind, known for their challenges, and Rundfjellet and Kvittind. We start gently on this first day. After skiing, we sail towards the best starting point for the next day's adventure.
Post-breakfast, we head to our next playground! Today's destination depends on the weather, snow conditions, and wind. We might stay in Austnesfjorden for new mountains and lines or sail towards Raftsundet. If conditions are favourable, we could ascend Geitgaljen, one of Lofoten's most spectacular peaks, offering a magical descent to the rocky beach. After skiing, we relax on board and sail out of Austnesfjorden towards our next stop.
We begin the day in Trollfjorden, a remote fjord with steep mountain sides accessible only by boat. Early in the morning, before the sun warms the mountain sides, we find a suitable hill that isn't too steep. After a good breakfast, we go ski touring. In the afternoon, we might light a bonfire after a refreshing swim in the sea.
Today, we explore the mountains around Raftsundet, the channel separating Lofoten to the west and Vesterålen to the east. The day's program depends on snow conditions and weather. We have options for steep, long descents or more mellow slopes and safer terrain in the forest. If the sky is clear tonight, we might spot the northern lights.
Lofoten is a well-known skiing destination, often busy during the season. As the week progresses, we move further away from the known spots and other ski groups. The skipper and guide will take us to a secret spot, allowing us to enjoy a remote mountain with fresh, untouched snow and no tracks.
On our final day, we take a short summit trip before returning to Svolvær in the afternoon. We dock and finish by 16:00, ensuring those with regular boat bookings to Bodø can catch their transport. Buses and scheduled boats depart directly from the marina, and the airport is nearby, but please allow some extra time when booking onward transport.
