What you'll do

Leave the lift lines and crowded pistes behind to discover the mountains in their purest form.
Our 5-day Ski Touring and Splitboarding Introduction is designed to bridge the gap between resort riding and true backcountry exploration, giving you the skills to earn your turns and access untouched powder. Under the guidance of expert mountain guides, you’ll trade mechanical lifts for human power. This immersive course focuses on the art of efficient uphill travel—mastering skinning techniques, fluid kick turns, and seamless transitions—alongside essential avalanche safety and terrain assessment. With a maximum 6:1 student-to-guide ratio, you’ll receive personalized coaching tailored to your pace, ensuring you build a solid foundation of confidence and mountain sense.

This journey is about more than just technique; it’s about the silence of the ascent, the satisfaction of a self-earned summit, and the freedom to choose your own line through pristine wilderness. By the end of the week, you’ll have transformed from a resort rider into a self-reliant explorer, ready to seek out the quiet corners of the Alps and beyond. If you’re a solid intermediate rider with a hunger for adventure and a love for deep snow, it’s time to step beyond the boundaries and experience the ultimate mountain freedom.

What will I learn from this course?
Everything you need to go from resort rider to someone who actually tours. You'll learn how touring bindings, splitboards and skins work, how to switch from uphill to downhill mode without a wrestling match in the cold, and how to skin efficiently, with a steady pace and clean kick turns on steep switchbacks. Safety runs through the whole week: beacon searches, probing and shoveling until they're automatic, plus the basics of reading terrain and avalanche conditions. With a maximum of six people per guide, the feedback is on your technique, not a generic lecture.
Five days won't make you a mountain guide, but they'll give you a solid foundation, the right habits and a clear idea of what to learn next.

Jany, Jonas and Snowbusters

Jonas Kryl brings serious Swedish steel to the Austrian Alps. He's been dominating Zell am See – Kaprun since '92, moving from Snowboard Boss to Head Instructor and stacking certifications until he hit the Austrian summit: "Staatlich geprüfter Skilehrer und Skiführer" (the highest level, achieved in '02). With nearly five decades on snow, he's now the examiner who teaches the instructors, switching seamlessly between carving clinics and dropping powder lines. Need a challenge? He spends his summers paddling class V whitewater. When Jonas guides, you're not just skiing; you're getting lessons from the guy who grades the pros. Fully stoked, fully certified, fully Frost.
