Itinerary

We will pick you up at your hotel in Marrakesh around 9 AM and transfer you to Imlil (1,700 m / 5,577 ft) — the gateway to the High Atlas Mountains (approx. 1h30 drive). Here, you’ll meet your local mountain team and begin your trek toward the Tachdirte Valley. The trail climbs steadily to Tizi N’Tamatert Pass (2,200 m / 7,217 ft), offering stunning views over Imlil and the surrounding valleys. We’ll stop for lunch at the pass before descending gently to Tachdirte (2,000 m / 6,561 ft). The afternoon is free to explore the traditional village and its peaceful setting. Distance: 13 km (8.1 mi) | Elevation Gain: +500m (+1,640 ft) -200m (-656 ft) | Time: 5 hours
Today’s trek takes us through a string of charming Berber villages, descending from Tachdirte to Ikiss before ascending to Tizi Aguersiwal Pass (2,100 m / 6,889 ft). From the pass, enjoy sweeping views before descending to a lush riverbank at 1,800 m, where we’ll pause for a relaxing riverside lunch and a well-earned rest. In the afternoon, a gentle trail takes us to Matat Village (1,800 m / 5,905 ft), nestled in a quiet valley. Distance: 14 km (8.7 mi) | Elevation Gain: +350m (+1,148 ft) -550m (-1,804 ft) | Time: 6 hours
After breakfast, we begin a steady ascent through pine and juniper forests to Tizi Oudid Pass (2,100 m / 6,889 ft). From the top, take in magnificent views over the Azzaden Valley and surrounding peaks. We then descend to the picturesque Ait Aissa Village, continuing on to Tizi Oussem (1,850 m / 6,069 ft). Optional afternoon stroll through the village and surrounding fields to experience local Berber life. Distance: 11 km (6.8 mi) | Elevation Gain: +350m (+1,148 ft) -300m (-984 ft) | Time: 5 hours
Our final day begins with a beautiful walk to Ighir, a panoramic viewpoint over the Azzaden Valley, before reaching the shepherd hamlets of Azib Tamsoulte. From there, we climb to Tizi Mzik Pass (2,450 m / 8,038 ft) — the highest point of the trek — offering spectacular views of the High Atlas peaks. After a scenic picnic lunch at the pass, we descend back to Imlil (1,700 m / / 5,577 ft), where your trek concludes. We’ll then transfer you back to Marrakech, arriving by late afternoon (6 PM). Distance: 13 km (8.1 mi) | Elevation Gain: +600m (+1,968 ft) -750m (-2,460 ft) | Time: 5 hours
