What you'll do

Trekking through the Everest region presents an unparalleled opportunity to behold awe-inspiring mountain vistas while immersing oneself in the extraordinary world of the Sherpas, renowned for their association with high-altitude mountaineering. This expedition also affords the chance to engage in sightseeing within the confines of the Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its rich biodiversity and alpine ecosystems. Moreover, it facilitates a close encounter with the loftiest Buddhist monastic establishments globally. The pinnacle of this journey, however, is undoubtedly the voyage to Everest Base Camp itself, retracing the historic footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, culminating in the remarkable proximity to the formidable Mount Everest, an experience without parallel.

Itinerary

Touch down in the heart of Nepal at Tribhuwan International Airport, where your journey to Everest Base Camp begins. We recommend arriving until 4 PM. Our the team greets you warmly, escorting you to your Kathmandu accommodation. The day unfolds in Thamel, the city's touristic epicenter, ripe for exploration and souvenir hunting. As dusk falls, we convene for a pre-trek briefing, followed by a dinner featuring Nepal's culinary delights, setting the tone for the adventure that awaits.
Post breakfast, our convoy winds through the verdant valleys and hills stretching east from Kathmandu to Manthali. This tranquil town marks the threshold to the Everest region. The day's drive is a scenic transition from urban bustle to the serene anticipation of the trek. Resting in Manthali, we recharge, surrounded by whispers of the adventures that tomorrow will bring.
With the morning light, we take to the skies, flying from Manthali to Lukla Airport, nestled in the Everest region's heart. The trek to Everest Base Camp truly begins as we step into the bustling Lukla village and then to the serene paths leading to Phakding. Surrounded by nature's majesty, we encounter monasteries that stand as cultural beacons. Our first night on the trail is in Phakding, where the river's melody lulls us into the Himalayan dream.
Today's trek from Phakding immerses us in the verdant pine forests lining the Dudh Koshi River's banks. Suspension bridges, like the famed Hillary Suspension Bridge, provide thrilling crossings and panoramic views, with Mt. Thamserku standing guard. Ascending to Namche Bazaar, we are greeted by the first breathtaking sight of Everest, wrapping up our day in this vibrant Sherpa heartland.
Namche Bazaar, our restful haven, offers a day of acclimatization with hikes to stunning viewpoints showcasing Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Lhotse. The cultural journey takes us through the Khumjung valley, visiting the esteemed Hillary School and Khunde Hospital, rounding off with a return to Namche for a night of rest and cultural reflection.
Setting out from Namche, the trail to Tengboche introduces us to the sacred highlands. As we reach the Tengboche Monastery, we are in the presence of spiritual and natural grandeur, with views of Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Everest enveloping us. Here, amidst the world's highest sacred institutions, we rest for the night.
Our journey continues to Dingboche, crossing the Gompa at Pangboche, home to the mystical Yeti scalp. We tread through the summer yak pastures and embrace the stark beauty of the Sherpa community's lifestyle. Our stay in Dingboche mirrors the rustic environment, resting before another day of ascent.
Dingboche's acclimatization day offers us time to explore further or rest. Optional hikes to Nagajun Hill or Chukung village promise expansive views over the valley, dotted with serene lakes and glistening glaciers. As we adapt to the altitude, our bond with the Himalayan landscape deepens, preparing us for the journey's next leg.
As we ascend from Dingboche to Lobuche, the path takes a thoughtful tone, crossing icy streams and leading us to an enclave of stone shelters amidst a breathtaking frozen expanse. Here, in the shadow of Everest, we are filled with a sense of nearness to our ultimate goal, spending the night in Lobuche's embrace.
The apex of our trek is the arrival at Everest Base Camp. Negotiating the Khumbu Glacier's complex paths, we stand in the shadow of the great Khumbu Icefall. The day's journey, filled with awe and accomplishment, ends at Gorakshep, where we rest and reflect on reaching one of the earth's most extraordinary places.
An early ascent to Kala Patthar greets the sunrise over Everest. This vantage point bathes us in the first light, revealing the world below in a new perspective. With these indelible images, we descend to Pheriche, a peaceful community where we spend the night, sharing tales of the vistas and valleys we've traversed.
Leaving Pheriche, we descend to Tengboche, retracing the Dudh Koshi river's melody. The tranquil Tengboche night offers a serene interlude, with the Himalayas' grand tapestry as our backdrop, marking our journey's contemplative chapter.
Trekking down from Tengboche, the descent through Phunke Tenga leads to a restful pause in Namche, before our path takes us to Monjo. This village provides a restful night's stay, nestled in the lap of the mountains, as we near our trek's conclusion.
Our final trekking day sees us through rhododendron forests, saying farewell to the Sherpa communities that have enriched our journey. Arriving in Lukla, we prepare for the return to urbanity, but not before one last night under the Himalayan sky.
As we fly back to Kathmandu, the Everest Base Camp Trek becomes a cherished memory. The day is yours to relive the journey, perhaps with last-minute shopping in Thamel, before we gather for a celebratory dinner, commemorating our shared Everest expedition.
Our last day dawns with heartfelt goodbyes as we escort you to Kathmandu's airport. We recommend departing after 10-11 AM in order to have a good last breakfast together with the group.
