What you'll do

Join our guided tour along the Selvaggio Blu trail, a five-day adventure through Baunei's Supramonte. Trek 40 km across mountainous terrains and limestone cliffs from Baunei to Cala Sisine. Experience the breathtaking landscapes and historic shepherd paths while immersed in the silence of the Mediterranean scrub. This unforgettable journey reveals the wild beauty of Sardinia.

Itinerary

Welcome to Baunei, the starting point of your Selvaggio Blu trek. Settle into your B&B and join us for an evening briefing at 6:30 pm, where we'll outline the adventure ahead. Bond over a delicious pizza dinner with your fellow trekkers before the journey begins.
Kick-off at 9:30 am, heading from the charming town of Baunei towards the mountain trails that loom overhead. As we ascend the steep paths, enjoy panoramic views back over Baunei. Our hike for the day finishes at the Us Piggius sheepfold, where a hearty dinner of zero-kilometre products prepared by a local shepherd and his family awaits. Length: 5 km (3,1 m) Altitude difference: +200 m (+656 ft) - 100 m (-328 ft) Time: 3 hours
Rise early at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast. By 9:00 a.m., we descend towards Portu Pedrosu, covering a negative altitude change of 650 meters, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim. The trail will end at Ovile Pressos De Rutta, where the remains of the ship that was wrecked in 1963 are still visible. We will set up camp at the stage, Piras, and cook dinner. Length: 13 km (8 m) Altitude difference: +650 m (+2132 ft) -700 m (-2296 ft) Time: 9 hours
After breakfast, we depart at 9:00 am for Punta Salinas. Today’s trail includes a climb of about 650 meters to a vantage point above Cala Goloritzè, offering a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Orosei from 500 meters up. After a beach break, we face a 500-meter ascent to our evening campsite, with dinner served at the nearby Porteddu Restaurant refreshment point. Length: 13 km (8 m) Altitude difference: +500 m (+1640 ft) -650 m (-2132 ft) Time: 7 hours
Today’s trek, beginning at 9:00 am, leads us to Cala Mudaloru with an initial climb of 250 meters to Baccu Mudaloru. We descend into the Mudaloru canyon, dropping 400 meters to the cove. After a swim, we climb approximately 400 meters to reach the Scala Oggiastrus sheepfold, where we set up camp and enjoy dinner provided by the shepherd. Length: 8 km (4,9 m) Altitude difference: +500 m (+1640 ft) -550 m (-1804 ft) Time: 6,5 hours
Our final day starts with an early breakfast before a 9:00 am departure towards Cala Sisine. We navigate a 200-meter descent to the Biriala staircase and trek through ancient woodland trails to Punta Plummare Mare. A last climb of 300 meters brings us into view of Cala Sisine, where a swim in its turquoise waters marks a fitting end to our adventure. A short walk leads us to off-road vehicles for a scenic drive back to Baunei through Codula di Sisine Canyon. Join us for a farewell beer and pizza if you wish to celebrate our trekking. We recommend departing around 7 PM in case you don't want to stay for a pizza. Length: 11 km (6,8 m) Altitude difference: +200 m (+656 ft) -150 m (-492 ft) Time: 6 hours
