Itinerary

Our guide will welcome you at the airport, and we’ll take a private transfer to a hotel in the city center. Dushanbe is a large city full of monuments and public gardens, with vibrant nightlife featuring many restaurants and pubs of Western standards. The day will be dedicated to relaxing after the long flight, and in the evening, there will be a briefing with the guide for details and final preparations for the trek.
Early in the morning, we head north on the M34 to Sarvoda, a small town that highlights Tajikistan’s rugged terrain with high mountain passes, steep descents, and long tunnels through towering peaks. From Sarvoda, we embark on a 30 km off-road journey into the Fann Mountains, passing through scenic alpine landscapes and small villages. Upon arrival at Alauddin "Vertical" Camp, porters will load supplies onto their donkeys. A 45-minute uphill walk takes us to Duchuba Lake (2,800 m), the first of the four Alauddin Lakes, where we’ll camp surrounded by stunning snow-capped peaks. Duration: 4-5 hours.
After breakfast, we’ll start walking along Chapdara Valley, passing a small shepherd’s camp. From there, we’ll ascend the Alauddin Pass (3,860 m). The trail offers spectacular views of the surrounding peaks, including Mount Chapdara, and the Alauddin Lakes below. The pass may be snow-covered, requiring caution, though it’s usually clear in summer. We’ll descend toward the two Dushoha Lakes, nestled at the base of the Mirali Peak’s magnificent northern wall. Camping at 3,000 meters by these turquoise alpine lakes. Time: 7-8 hours.
Leaving this camp, we’ll head toward Kulikalon Lake, starting with an easy descent to the lake. Then, the trail climbs toward the Ziorat Pass at 3,150 meters, a shorter ascent than the previous day. We’ll pause for lunch at the pass’s summit to enjoy a new perspective of the mountains before descending to Chukurak Lake. Our camp, at 2,450 meters, will be near summer shepherd camps, offering the chance to taste traditional yogurt and observe the lives of these mountain nomads up close. Time: 5-6 hours.
From our camp, we’ll descend to Artuch Base Camp and then head into the heart of the mountains, climbing to Kulikalon Lake. We’ll circle the lake to the stunning Bibijanet Peninsula (2,800 m), where we’ll set up camp. The lake’s waters perfectly reflect the immense northern wall of Mirali Peak - a truly memorable campsite. Time: 4-5 hours.
On our final trekking day, we’ll ascend to the Laudan Pass at 3,628 meters. Though challenging, the effort will be rewarded with views of Temir Tau, Maryia, Ziorat, and other peaks. After about 5 hours, we’ll reach the Vertical Camp, where vehicles will be waiting. From there, we’ll drive for about two hours to the village of Saritag, near the large Iskanderkul Lake where we will stay in a guesthouse here. Time: 4-5 hours.
We’ll drive to the lake named after Alexander the Great, a place steeped in history and surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. Strolling along its shores, we will take in the serene beauty and visit the impressive waterfalls known as the "Niagara of the Fann," as well as the mysterious Snake Lake, famous for its tranquil waters and unique setting. After enjoying a scenic lunch, we’ll embark on our return journey to Dushanbe arriving in the late afternoon.
Spend the day immersing yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Dushanbe, exploring its bustling grand market and discovering the city's most iconic monuments and cultural landmarks. An optional excursion is available and is the visit of the Hissar Fortress, located just an hour’s drive from the city. This historic site offers a glimpse into the rich past of Tajikistan and provides a wonderful contrast to the modern charm of the capital.
Airport transfer followed by departure, concluding the journey with memorable experiences.
