Itinerary

We meet in "the Paris of the north" to begin the adventure! At 4 PM, we board our vessel in Tromsø. We review the week's plan, safety protocols, and basic sail handling. Dinner is a chance to get to know each other, and if conditions permit, we may set sail towards Ryastraumen or a nearby anchorage.
After breakfast and a possible swim in the Arctic sea, we sail into the western fjords of Senja, reaching Fjordgard. From here, we hike Hesten, Segla, and Stavelitippen. The trail to Hesten offers stunning views and leads to Segla’s neighbour peak, Stavelitippen. We return to the boats late, with the sun still high in the sky. Altitude difference: 900 m (2952 ft)
We sail around the western side of Senja, exploring long fjords and steep mountains. Our destination is the harbour of Hamn, with optional afternoon hikes or kayak trips. Dinner at a local restaurant follows a relaxing sauna and hot tub session. Altitude difference: 400-500 m (1312 - 1640 ft)
Today, we set sail for Andøya and the village of Bleik, a journey of 3-4 hours. The northern point of Andøya offers a good chance to see whales. We explore bird islands, shallow archipelagos, and white beaches. Bleik is perfect for surfing, paddling, or hiking, with a local pub open on summer evenings. Altitude difference: 400 m (1312 ft)
After a morning swim, we sail south to Vesterålen Islands and Møysalen National Park, the starting point for our hike up to Møysalen. We anchor near the mountain's foot and prepare for the next day's hike.
Weather permitting, we hike up to Møysalen, the highest peak in the region at 1263 meters. The hike takes 8-12 hours. Afterwards, we sail to the Lofoten Islands, passing through the spectacular Trollfjorden. Our destination is Skrova, a historic whaling centre offering a good harbour. Altitude difference: 1500 m (4921 ft) Time: 8-12 hours
We enjoy a relaxed breakfast, a swim, or a morning hike to Skrova's 231-meter peak with views over the Lofoten Wall, Vestfjord, and mainland. At lunchtime, we start a sailing race to Henningsvær, a traditional fishing village. The trip concludes with a final night out at Trevarefabrikken restaurant. Altitude difference: 200 - 300 m (656 - 984 ft)
We packed and left the boat by 10 AM on the last morning. The nearby coffee shop Lysstøperiet is perfect for wrapping up the week. Thank you for an unforgettable Norway hiking trip! If you have time, continue exploring the manyfold options in the Lofoten Islands.
