Before and after your trek, you'll stay in a comfortable 3-star hotel located in the heart of Reykjavik. Depending on availability, your accommodation will be either Hotel Leifur Eiriksson, Fosshotel Baron, Fosshotel Lind, or Fosshotel Raudará. On the Trek
During the hike, you’ll overnight in traditional Icelandic mountain huts, staying in shared dormitory-style rooms. These huts are basic but atmospheric, offering a true back-to-nature experience deep in the Icelandic highlands. Facilities include cold running water, gas stoves for cooking, and wood or oil heaters for warmth—though there’s no electricity for charging devices. Showers are available at all huts except the first one, typically for a small fee (around ISK 500 for 5 minutes). Toilets are usually located in separate buildings nearby. While the comfort level is simple, the dramatic landscapes surrounding each hut more than make up for it.
