What you'll do

Join us on a 5-day guided trek through Lombok’s legendary Mount Rinjani. From lush rainforests and crater lakes to summit sunrises and volcanic hot springs, this immersive adventure blends physical challenge with natural beauty—complete with porters, gear, and local hospitality.

Itinerary

We’ll pick you up directly from the airport, harbor, or your hotel anywhere in Lombok and drive you to Senaru Village (around 3 hours). If you arrive early enough, you can stretch your legs with a self-guided walk to Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep, two of the region’s most stunning waterfalls. In the evening, we’ll meet for a short briefing to prep for the adventure ahead. Overnight: Guesthouse in Senaru
After breakfast, we drive to Sembalun Village where the trek begins at 1,156 meters. We’ll start with a gentle ascent through farmland and open savannah—keep your eyes peeled for wild buffalo and stunning views of the mountain ahead. After lunch at Post II, we take on a steeper climb through pine forest to reach our camp on the Crater Rim at 2,639 meters. Just in time for sunset. Overnight: Tent at Crater Rim Sembalun. Time: 7–8 hrs | Length: ~9.5 km / 5.9 mi | Elevation gain: 1,500 m up / 4,921 ft
Rise and shine at 2 AM—we’re heading for the summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726 m). The climb is steep and sandy, but we’ll take it slow and steady. At the top, we’ll celebrate the sunrise with breathtaking views over Bali and Sumbawa. After descending back to camp for breakfast, we head down to Segara Anak Lake, nestled inside the crater. We’ll lunch by the water and unwind in the natural hot springs, said to soothe sore muscles and spirits alike. Overnight: Tent by Segara Anak Lake. Time: 9–10 hrs | Length: ~12 km / 7.5 mi | Elevation gain: 1,100 m up / 3,609 ft, 1,700 m down / 5,577 ft
Enjoy a relaxing morning by the lake. You can swim, fish, or take another dip in the hot springs. After lunch, we’ll begin a scenic hike up to Crater Rim Senaru. It’s a steady climb with rocky sections, but the views of the lake and summit from a new angle are worth every step. On clear days, you’ll even see Bali and the Gili Islands from camp. Overnight: Tent at Crater Rim Senaru. Time: 3–4 hrs | Length: ~4.5 km / 2.8 mi | Elevation gain: 600 m up / 1,969 ft
After one last breakfast in the clouds, we begin the long descent through lush rainforest, home to monkeys, birds, and the occasional tropical mist. We'll stop for lunch on the trail and aim to reach Senaru Village by early afternoon. Your driver will be waiting to take you to your next destination—whether it’s a beach, your hotel, or back to the airport. Time: 5–6 hrs | Length: ~10 km / 6.2 mi | Elevation gain: 2,000 m down / 6,562 ft
