Embark on an unparalleled hiking journey through Western Liguria, a unique region where majestic mountains meet the azure sea. This 6-day expedition uncovers Liguria's fascinating blend of natural beauty and historical richness, offering trails that meander through ancient ruins, captivating caves like Grotta dell'Edera, and the enchanting old town of Finalborgo. Each day is a new discovery, from the panoramic sea views atop Monte Carmo to the storied paths of the Pellegrino route and the picturesque village of Verezzi. Your adventure is complemented by the comfort of staying in a historical building in the heart of Finalborgo, making every moment of this trip as memorable as the landscapes you'll traverse.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to Liguria!

Our journey begins at 6:00 pm with a gathering at the apartment for introductions and an informative briefing about our upcoming excursions. At 6:30 pm, join us for a welcome aperitif, setting the tone for our exciting adventure in Liguria!

Day 2 - Exploring the Tour Finalese

Kick off the day at 9:30 am for an exhilarating hike through the Tour Finalese paths, a treasure trove of natural and historical wonders. From the mystique of Grotta dell'Edera to the ancient ruins of Sant'Antonino and the enigmatic Pollera cave, immerse yourself in the area's rich history. A packed lunch will fuel our exploration, with a return planned for 3:30 pm. Spend your evening wandering through the charming streets of Finalborgo or basking in the coastal beauty of the Finale area. Distance: 8 km (4.9 mi) | Elevation Gain: +450 m (+1,476 ft) -450 m (-1,476 ft)| Time: 6 hours

Day 3 - Monte Carmo's Majestic Peaks (1,390 m)

Our adventure continues at 9:00 am, as we head towards Monte Carmo. Renowned for its stunning ridge path and breathtaking sea views, Monte Carmo offers a dynamic and enjoyable hike over gentle rocks. We'll conquer the summit with a packed lunch and return by 4:30 pm. Distance: 10 km (6.2 mi) | Elevation Gain: +850 m (+2,788 ft) -850 m (-2,788 ft) | Time: 7 hours

Day 4 - The Legendary Pellegrino Path (520 m)

An 8:30 am start brings us to the iconic Pellegrino path, celebrated for its beauty and the mystical Grotta dei Falsari. Our journey concludes on the sands of Noli beach. Distance: 7.5 km (4.6 mi) | Elevation Gain: +500 m (+1,640 ft) -500 m (-1,640 ft) | Time: 4-5 hours

Day 5 - The Miniature Dolomites of Liguria (1,094 m)

At 8:00 a.m., we embark on a short drive to the Ligurian "Small Dolomites" for a trek along the Path of the Giants. This packed lunch hike offers stunning landscapes and concludes at 5:00 p.m. Distance: 18 km (11.1 mi) | Elevation Gain: +1,100 m (+3,608 ft) -1,100 m (-3,608 ft) | Time: 9 hours

Day 6 - Farewell Hike to Verezzi

Our final day begins at 9:00 am with an optional hike to Verezzi village, traversing the Vecchia Cava for one last glimpse of the Mediterranean's allure. As we part ways during lunch, we already look forward to your next trekking adventure with us in Liguria. We recommend departing in the afternoon.

Nestled in the green valley of L'Aquila, with its fine vineyards, lush palms and fruit orchards, medioeval castles and ancient churches, B&B Pernambucco is only 20 minutes walk from the climbing rocks! During high season the accommodation may change due to the high flow of tourists in the area. The rooms will always be shared in rooms for 6 people or in double or triple rooms.
