The guide and the skipper were incredible. Andrea was so knowledgeable and did a great job supporting and leading the group. David was an amazing skipper. They were both so welcoming and fun to be around. We also had great weather and a great group where all skiers were the same level and had the same goals for the trip.
It was a very, very beautiful and well-organized trip. Gio, our climbing guide, knew the area like the back of his hand and was able to show us really great tips and routes. The stay at the B&B was also fantastic—very welcoming and thoughtfully arranged. Nothing was missing. I can highly recommend this trip to everyone. A truly wonderful experience!
Most everything went great for my TMB trip, right up until I got sick the first night in our refuge. I spoke with our guide who was very kind, but would not allow me to continue on with the group due to my symptoms. I found my own hotel, transportation and food for 3 days while my group did their tour. In that time I saw a Dr, since I could never reach the medical line that Mapo Topo gives. I tried to file an insurance claim, which has repeatedly been ignored. Mapo Tapo responded, but blamed me for not seeing THEIR doctor. The number never worked and apparently you’re supposed to speak to them BEFORE leaving the group. I wasn’t given an option to stay. Between my booking and my additional expenses, I’m out a couple thousand dollars. I’d planned to join them for a trip this coming year to Peru, but now I’m not sure it’s the right decision for me because of how this has played out.
Really enjoyed my 4 days of hiking on the TMB! Our guide Tom was very knowledgeable and made everyone in the group feel welcomed. One of the highlights was getting to meet so many new people and becoming friends while getting to hike in stunning places. Definitely would book again with Mapo Tapo!
