What you'll do

This is an 8-day surf and ocean lifestyle experience in one of Morocco’s most iconic surf destinations. Famous for its legendary long right-hand wave, peaceful atmosphere, and authentic fishing-village charm, Imsouane is the perfect place to slow down, disconnect, and focus on surfing. Unlike busier surf destinations, life here follows the rhythm of the ocean: sunrise sessions, fresh fish lunches, sunsets over the bay and evenings shared with the group. The SurfWeek experience combines surf lessons, free surf, local culture and community life, creating the perfect environment for beginners and improvers. Days are flexible and built around wave conditions, weather and the energy of the group. Whether you're learning your first pop-up or chasing long rides across the bay, Imsouane offers one of the most unique surf experiences in Morocco.

Itinerary

You land in Agadir and the crew is there to meet you. The drive south to Imsouane (check-in at the surfhouse from 3 PM onward) takes about an hour and a half: Atlantic coastline the whole way. Imsouane is a tiny Moroccan fishing village that has discovered surf without losing its identity: cats on walls, mint tea, the smell of the ocean and tagine mixed together. Welcome dinner, introductions, and a first look at the bay that will be your classroom for the week.
Briefing and surf theory over breakfast, then straight into the water for lesson one. Imsouane's bay is one of the best learning bays on the Atlantic coast — the wave peels long and slow, perfect for getting to your feet without panic. After lunch in the village, the afternoon takes you to the freshwater spring nearby and then up to the Cathedral cliff — a dramatic rock formation above the bay where the sunset turns everything gold.
Morning begins with another salt-drenched session on the gentle rollers of the bay. After refuelling, we trade the quiet village life for the vibrant energy of Essaouira. Wander through the blue-and-white UNESCO medina, watch the fishermen bring in the day’s catch, and lose yourself in the spice-scented souks. Whether you choose a sunset horse ride along the ramparts or a feast of grilled sardines at the port, the evening ends with a scenic drive back to Imsouane under a canopy of desert stars.
Morning light finds us back at the bay for our third surf session, refining our technique on Africa's longest waves. As the sun begins its descent, we trade the water for the golden expanse of the Timlalin sand dunes. This dramatic landscape, where the desert meets the Atlantic, offers an extraordinary light show at golden hour. Whether you choose to try sandboarding or simply soak in the silence of the dunes, it’s a moment of pure Moroccan magic before returning to our surfhouse.
Rest the paddle muscles and dive into the vibrant heart of the coast. Today, we trade the longboard for the labyrinthine alleys of Agadir’s souk, wandering through stalls overflowing with fragrant spices and local treasures. After a city lunch, we head north to the legendary cliffs of Anchor Point. Perched above the Atlantic, we’ll watch world-class athletes carve Morocco’s most iconic right-hander as the sun begins to set. We'll wrap up the day with a communal dinner in the surf-centric village of Taghazout before returning to our sanctuary in Imsouane.
Start your morning with a fourth session at the bay, refining your ride on the long, peeling waves of Imsouane. After lunch, the scenery shifts as we trade the coast for the rugged Atlas foothills and Paradise Valley. This hidden gorge, filled with crystal-clear rock pools and ancient argan trees, offers a serene escape from the ocean spray. Along the way, we’ll visit a local argan cooperative to witness traditional Moroccan craftsmanship. As the sun sets, we’ll gather for dinner and guitar melodies under a blanket of stars in the heart of the valley.
Start your final day with a free surf at dawn or a grounding yoga session on the rooftop as the sun rises over the coast. After lunch, paddle out for your fifth and final lesson; often the moment where everything clicks and the waves feel effortless. As evening approaches, watch the bay transform under the golden Moroccan light and take in one last sunset from the rugged cliffs. We’ll gather back at the surfhouse for a final farewell dinner, celebrating a week of salt, stoke, and newfound friendships.
The final morning in Imsouane is for slow coffees and one last look at the bay. After checkout at 10 AM, we’ll transfer to Agadir airport with salt in our hair and the rhythm of the Atlantic still in our souls. Imsouane is the kind of place you leave only to immediately start planning your return. Safe travels, and see you back in the lineup soon.
