What you'll do

SurfWeek Peniche is the perfect mix of surf, ocean lifestyle and community energy on Portugal’s iconic Atlantic coast. Known as one of Europe’s best surf destinations, Peniche offers consistent waves, long sandy beaches and a relaxed surf-town atmosphere. During the trip, you’ll stay at Bukubaki Eco Surf Resort, a nature-based glamping accommodation surrounded by pine trees, wooden houses and sustainable vibes. Days are shaped around the group, the weather and the ocean conditions: surf lessons, beach time, shared meals, sunset moments and free time to explore. It’s not a rigid, minute-by-minute itinerary, but a flexible SurfWeek experience designed to help you improve your surf, meet new people and enjoy Portugal at your own rhythm.

Itinerary

Welcome to the rugged coastline of Peniche. Your adventure begins with a warm welcome and a short transfer (5 min) from the bus station. At 6 PM, you can check in at our base camp. Once settled, we’ll gather for an introductory briefing to dive into the details of the week's surf sessions and travel arrangements. To kick things off, we’ll share a sunset welcome aperitivo—the perfect moment to meet your fellow travelers and toast to the Atlantic adventures ahead.
Fuel up with breakfast before heading to the coast for your first surf lesson. Feel the Atlantic energy as you catch your first waves under the guidance of expert instructors. After a relaxed lunch on the sand, the afternoon is yours for more surfing or pure coastal chill. As the sun begins to dip, stretch out with a yoga session in the pine forest, then head back to camp to share stories and a meal with your fellow travelers.
Fuel your body with a coastal breakfast before heading back to the waves for your second surf session and some afternoon freesurfing. Once your stoke is high, we’ll explore the dramatic cliffs of Peniche and Baleal, taking in the raw beauty of the Atlantic. We end the day the authentic way: a sunset BBQ under the pine trees back at camp.
Fuel your morning with a hearty breakfast before trading the waves for the pavement. Today begins with an introductory SurfSkate session, the perfect way to refine your balance and flow on land. After a relaxed lunch at the villa, it’s time for your third surf lesson to put those new skills to the test in the Atlantic swell. We’ll wrap up the day as the locals do, gathering at a traditional Portuguese restaurant to share stories over authentic flavors and fresh catch.
Fuel your body with a fresh breakfast before sets of a different kind. Today is your day to explore: witness the liquid cathedrals of Nazaré, where the world's largest waves roar, or boat out to the pristine turquoise waters of the Berlenga Islands. After a day of wandering and a casual lunch on the road, we’ll gather for a grounding meditative session to reconnect with our surroundings. We cap off the adventure with an authentic dinner hosted by the legendary Mena, sharing stories over local flavors at the heart of the camp.
Fuel up with a home-cooked breakfast before stepping back in time with a morning stroll through the medieval cobblestone streets of Óbidos. After a relaxed lunch back at the villa, it’s time to hit the waves for your fourth surf session. As the day mellows, paddle out for an unforgettable sunset surf, catching gold-tipped swells as the light fades over the Atlantic. We’ll wrap up the day with a cozy dinner and shared stories back at our base.
Savor your final breakfast before heading out for your fifth and final surf lesson. By now, the rhythm of the Atlantic feels like second nature. After a seaside lunch, spend the afternoon practicing your new skills during a free surf session or simply soaking in the coastal vibes. As the sun begins to dip, we’ll gather at Almagreira for a beach clean-up, giving back to the shores that hosted us, followed by a celebratory sunset. We’ll wrap up the journey with a cozy dinner at the Eco Surf resort, sharing stories of the waves conquered.
One last breakfast with the crew to swap photos and stories before the journey home. After a final look at the Atlantic, it’s time to pack your sutff (check out by 10 AM) and head to the station with a short transfer (5 min). You’re leaving the coast behind, but the rhythm of the waves and the spirit of the Peniche surf community stay with you. It's time to start planning your next swell.
