      About certifications

Certified Guides are highly skilled professionals who move efficiently and safely in wild environments, practicing outdoor activities. And they will happily guide you there. Before partnering up with a Guide, Mapo Tapo checks and double-checks if a Guide is a regular member of any national and/or international Certified Guides organizations.

AEGM is the Spanish Association of Mountain Guides. There are different certifications by AEGM, such as Mountain Guide (can also be IFMGA), Aspirant Mountain Guide, Mountain Leader (can also be UIMLA), Canyoning Guide, Rock Climbing Guide, Senior Rock Climbing Guide, Ski Tour Guide. AEGM guides can also be IFMGA or UIMLA certified. These guides are primarily authorized to lead people in Spain. However, if they also hold the IFMGA or UIMLA certification, they can lead clients in other countries depending on the local regulations and restrictions.

AMM is the Italian certification for Mountain Leaders certified by CONAGAI. AMM guides can guide groups on hikes and treks where the skills and equipment of alpinism are not required. AMMs cannot provide tours on glaciers and permanent snow and where the planned use of a rope is necessary. However, they can work with groups on high-altitude treks (no altitude limit) and lead groups on snowshoes (not skiing).

AIGAE-certified guides are trained professionals qualified to lead various outdoor activities, including Hiking and Trekking, Environmental Education and Interpretation, Wildlife Observation and Watching, Cultural Heritage tours, Geology and Botany tours, and Eco-tourism activities. The guide is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of participants while also providing a fun and enjoyable experience. CSI is an Italian organization, so its mountain bike guides are primarily active within Italy. However, it is possible for a certified CSI mountain bike guide to lead groups in other countries, subject to the laws and regulations of those countries and any relevant agreements between the CSI and other organizations
